Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation
Draper Richards provides social entrepreneurs with support in the early stages of their development to help outstanding people create social change. Ben Powell was elected to be a Draper Richards Fellow in 2008. The Draper Richards Foundation provides access to resources and a great deal of support to Agora. Draper Richard’s Portfolio Director, Anne Marie Burgoyne sits on Agora’s Board.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation helped fund the first ever Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs Conference in Latin America.

The Rockefeller Foundation
The Rockefeller Foundation funds a portfolio of initiatives that spread progress and generate sustainable impact on individuals, institutions, and communities. It supports Agora as part of its Impact Investing initiative, which seeks to develop investments in improving social or environmental conditions.

Yo Emprendedor is an annual gathering in Costa Rica that seeks to propel innovative business plans in need of financing and business acumen.

Vital Voices
Vital Voices identifies, invests, and brings visibility to extraordinary women around the world. Agora is working with Vital Voices in Nicaragua to launch their “Living in Democracy” curriculum for women entrepreneurs. This program will identify, mentor, and educate female entrepreneurs. Agora is supporting Vital Voices in the development of educational and marketing content.

Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE)
ANDE is a coalition of development organizations commited to supporting small and growing businesses around the world. Agora Partnerships is a founding member of ANDE and hosted the first ever ANDE regional conference in Granada, Nicaragua in the Spring of 2010.

B-Lab
B Corporations are a new type of corporation which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. Agora Management Company is a certified B Corporation and Agora Venture Fund is one of the first funds to utilize the new Global Impact Investing Rating System (GIIRS), launched by B Lab.

 

Global Impact Investment Rating System (GIIRS)
GIIRS is used to evaluate the social and environmental performance of companies and funds. It relies upon the Impact Reporting and Investing Standards (IRIS) which are currently being implemented by impact entrepreneurs and investors around the world. Agora Venture Fund is a Pioneer GIIRS fund.

The William James Foundation
Through its Socially Responsible Business Plan Competition, The William James Foundation identifies, supports, and rewards the best new for-profit enterprises with defined social and/or environmental goals.

 

The Unreasonable Institute
The Unreasonable Institute is an international business accelerator and investor in high-impact entrepreneurs and sourcing partner for Accelerator companies.

Universities

Agora works with exceptional student consultants from top graduate programs to give entrepreneurs access to strategy consulting. They are passionate MBA students from a range of backgrounds and countries. Through their networks, skills, and experience, they help to level the playing field for the small business entrepreneur. By interacting directly with Agora Entrepreneurs, consultants also learn first-hand the challanges and opportunities entrepreneurs face in developing countires. There have been over 200 Agora consultants since 2005 from over 20 countries. They work in a range of industries across the world and many work in the field of impact investing.
