Our mission is to accelerate the success of early-stage impact entrepreneurs who share our community’s commitment to solving social and environmental challenges through business.

Our vision is of a world where all entrepreneurs incorporate social and environmental impact into the very design of their businesses; entrepreneurs have access to the infrastructure, resources, and networks they need to success; and where investors will actively seek out those businesses that create maximum impact for society.

The Mission

Our mission is to scale the growth of early-stage companies throughout Latin America that are helping to solve critical problems in their community  Whether they are organizing women’s cooperatives in the mountains of Guatemala, employing marginalized youth populations in rural Nicaragua, or providing affordable and sustainable post-disaster relief housing in Haiti, Agora entrepreneurs directly confront the most intractable social problems facing the region. They confront them by harnessing market forces and channeling them to create long-term value for shareholders and for society. Our aim is to level the playing field for promising, early stage entrepreneurs who, like us, are working to build a more sustainable and successful planet.

The Vision

Class of ’11 entrepreneur Maria Pacheco employs hundreds of rural women in the mountains of Guatemala through her company, Kiej de los Bosques.

We envision a world where all entrepreneurs incorporate social and environmental impact into the very design of their businesses, and where the very best of these entrepreneurs have access to the infrastructure, resources, and networks they need to compete and to flourish. In this future world, investors will actively seek out those businesses that create maximum impact for society, and customers will reward these companies over others.

Connecting investors to the entrepreneurs best able to turn investment into impact will be efficient and inexpensive.  Organizations working in development will be coordinated with investors and donors so they can help fix market failures and facilitate a thriving marketplace for early-stage companies solving social problems.

It’s a bold vision, but we are not alone in having this vision. We share it will many others.  We invite you to join us in our efforts.
