ORIENTATION RETREAT
start: late January / early February
duration: 1 week
location: Washington D.C.

Consultants start in Washington DC where they spend a week with Agora’s U.S. team to learn about the organization and hear from strategic partners and supporters about the work they do to support the Agora Accelerator.

ACCELERATOR PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
start: February / March

duration: 5 weeks
location: Managua, Nicaragua

Consultants then travel to Nicaragua where they meet Agora’s Nicaragua team and in-country partners. During this time, Consultants undergo training on Agora’s consulting methodology, assist with the planning of content and logistics for the Entrepreneur Retreat,  conduct background research on the regions and industry in preparation for consulting, and lead other special projects. Consultants are provided housing while in Nicaragua and have the weekends free to explore the beautiful country.

ENTREPRENEUR RETREAT
start: March

duration: 1 week
location: Granada, Nicaragua

Held in the beautiful colonial city of Granada, the Entrepreneur Retreat serves as the start of the Accelerator and brings together the 2016 class of Entrepreneurs to learn and collaborate alongside the Agora team, investors, mentors, and other industry experts. Consultants lead various aspects of the event and focus on getting to know each of the companies in their portfolio through the Business Model Canvas, Theory of Change, and other activities throughout the week. CONSULTING ACCELERATOR COMPANIES
duration: April – August
location: various cities

After the Retreat, consultants travel to one of Agora’s satellite offices in Central or South America (exact location is dependent on the location of the companies) and begin consulting the 4-5 companies with whom they have been assigned to work.

Consultants lead weekly, or bi-weekly meetings with each company as they work their way through Agora’s consulting methodology, modifying it to meet the specific needs of each company. While the consulting is a mix of virtual and in person, a major effort is made to assign consultants to companies that are located relatively closely, and each consultant has a modest travel budget (funding permitting) that will allow them to visit each company in person at least once.

WRAP UP
start: early fall

Consultants wrap up each consulting engagement and debrief with the Accelerator Manager. Selected consultants may facilitate Deal Rooms for Accelerator companies at conferences such as SOCAP.
