More on the Retreat

March 7-9 we will be hosting our annual Entrepreneur Retreat in historic Granada, Nicaragua. The event will feature Agora Entrepreneurs and representatives from our growing network of impact investors and business mentors who will convene in Granada. We are working to help build a community of impact entrepreneurs who believe that business can and should be used as a force for good. During the retreat, we will share experiences and become inspired by stories of impact entrepreneurs who are making tangible, positive changes in their communities and learn how the Agora Accelerator and the greater Impact Investing community can help entrepreneurs grow companies with a multi-stakeholder approach.
During the retreat, we will engage in interactive workshops on creating a company culture focused on achieving measurable economic, social, and environmental returns – as well as scalability. One of the main focuses of the retreat is to begin tweaking, refining, and strengthening Agora Entrepreneurs’ investor pitches as they prepare for the Investor Conference held May 22-25 in Atlanta, Georgia. Entrepreneurs will receive valuable feedback on their presentations and begin honing their messages so that they can be most effective.
“The event has helped me no longer feel isolated and alone in doing business. It is amazing to see so many people investing in the region – not only in the company, but in the entire community. I see the benefit of being connected with people of this caliber. And I think it will be an excellent way to develop ideas that transcend our team, knowing that we have a community of 20 people who can provide constructive feedback.”

“The most significant part of this event was the networking – it has been great! We shared with people we did not know and found we had a lot common. It will be worth staying connected and see where the businesses go from here. We’ve also learned about venture capital and how to get it, and the feedback sessions helped me refocus my ideas in a way that makes my project attractive to investors, and with a different approach.”
